Foster McGinty

Born in Memphis, TN, a mere stones throw away from Elvis Presley’s Graceland and the legendary Sun Studios, Foster McGinty is an artist that acknowledges the past, with both feet marching defiantly into the future. McGinty has pioneered an original style that echoes the Sun Studios era and the psychedelic musings that helped define the late 60's. Possessing guitar chops that rival any noteworthy

six stringer, McGinty is a songwriter through and through, preferring to honor the song over never ending guitar solos and recycled formulas. With a Delta hellhound milky yowl and a potent live band that slams back and forth between an ever-unfolding musical mission, Foster McGinty serves the listener with a heavy dose of golden era electric.
Foster lived in Manhattan for five years and released two albums while residing there. He frequently performs in New York City’s most notable venues and was written up in TimeOut New York as ”a head-turning, guitar-pop craftsmen”, and has been featured on Fender.com and in Guitar World magazine. Foster was a showcase performer at the 2011 SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, and will be playing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland this summer. His most recent release, an EP, ‘Crows Nest and the Great Shakes’, was recorded in Bearsville, New York, which he now calls home.
